Western Australia

The first vines were planted in Western Australia in the Swan Valley, near Perth in 1829 by Thomas Waters. Today it is home of the State’s largest winery, Houghton. Talyancich Wines, also with a long history, produce outstanding fortified wines in the European tradition. We take in the newly created Geographe district, the wines of Capel Vale and in the Pemberton district and the French style wines of Picardy Estate. Margaret River, further south, and much publicized since the early 1970s is represented by several famous international names Cullen Wines, Leeuwin Estate and Mad Fish Wines.
