Rheims

This has been a city of major importance since the Roman period and was the traditional place for the coronation of French Kings. We visit many Roman ruins, statues, streets and churches. We found that the environment provides a great deal of creative stimulus for artists and artisans. The ancient art of pottery, famous to Reims, is demonstrated. This is also a region known for the production of vinegar. We discuss the history and production in this episode. The art of sugar pulling to create swans is shown. We visit the streets, cafes and people of Reims. Recipes include: Oaufs Poches a la Crème (eggs), Polee da Griolee et at y Laisse de Gros (chicken) and Valle de la Marne.
