Haute Savoie

A region of France with mountains dominating the landscape and the awe-inspiring Mt. Blanc as its centrepiece, the region boasts over seventy winter resorts. We visit the town of Chamonix which hosted the first winter Olympiad in 1926 and is considered the unofficial capital of the Alps. We visit Lake Annecy, rich in perch and trout, and prepare a French favourite, L’Omble Chevalier. We also stop in Annecy. Considered the Venice of Savole, we take a trip through the canals and bridges and view the surrounding houses all gaily decorated.
