Clare Valley/Langhorne Creek

The Clare Valley, two hours drive North of Adelaide, capital of South Australia, was the birthplace of Australia’s Riesling. Established by two Austrian priests in 1851, it was gradually settled by Polish immigrants and today also produces outstanding white and red wines, particularly Shiraz. The focal point of the Valley and the wine industry are the Jesuit vineyards, winery, church and complex of early colonial buildings and Pikes Wines at Polish River. Langhorne Creek district, also visited in this show, is recognised internationally for its outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon. Bleasdale and Brothers in Arms are two prominent producers featured.
