Montepulciano is the dominant grape variety of Central Italy, particularly in the Marche region around Monte Conero which produces the potent Rosso Conero. Also in the Marche region the Cantina of the Conti Di Buscareto has reverted to ancient methods and procedures to produce very individual reds. On to Tuscany and a visit to Castello Banfi, and a look at Brunello, the king of Tuscan reds. Out to the Adriatic Coast and the Abruzzi region where Agriverde also produce an individual wine from the Sangiovese grape; however using only organic methods. To conclude, a visit to the small region of Molise, land settled by the Albanian colonists, and now producing a series of interesting and individual wines.
