Calvados

This is the coast of Normandy and the site of greatest military mobilisation of the 20th century on 6 June 1944. Known by the code name “Overlook”, it was an enormous operation which eventually liberated Western Europe. Today it is primarily an agricultural and resort area. We visit the quaint port of Honfluer which has long been a favourite of artists, even Monet. Recipes include: Pigeon, Rice Pudding and an Apple Dessert.
