Bonifacio

This enchanting little town was founded in the 9th century and is situated on a beautiful one mile lone limestone promontory which rises to a height of over 200 feet above the water. We visit the beaches, marines and resorts. The citadel where Napoleon lived when he was the officer in charge of the local garrison is seen. This area has everything from water sports to unexplored natural sanctuaries. Lobsters are found here and supplied to Paris. This is the home of Corsica’s leading folk group La Filletta. Corsican music is discussed. This area is also responsible for the regeneration of France’s silk industry.
