Once an important Rhine River port, today the town thrives because of its industrial activities, many associated with the wine industry. We travel to the small town of Barr and take in one of the many wine festivals staged in this region each year. As this region has an extensive agricultural background, cuisine draws heavily from the local produce. Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are cultivated and Tarte Aux Blueberry or Blueberry pie is prepared.
